Quotes After wanting to walk the Kokoda track for many years, I finally booked it . I had trained with Adam for a while and set many goals with him along the way but this was yet to be my biggest. I told Adam about what I was wanting to do and he never doubted me along the way. Adam put together a training program for me and each week we worked on preparing my body and my mind for the track in August. I felt myself becoming stronger physically and mentally . In August this year I completed the track and I could not have been more prepared. The track was very challenging but I did it and I was able to take on anything that the track dealt me and enjoy it at the same time. On reflecting on my experience I feel proud of myself to have achieved the goal that I set , I also recognise that without Adam's support, dedication ,motivation and training program I wouldn't have experienced Kokoda the way I did. My biggest goal I hoped to achieve was to walk with my head up ? not constantly looking down at the ground wherever I went because I was embarrassed to look people in the eye. Adam got me to stand in front of a mirror and tell him one thing that I saw that I liked about myself. Overwhelming sadness ripped through me (and still does to this day) at the thought. I couldn?t name a single thing that I saw in that reflection that I liked. Not a single thing. With that I promptly burst into tears. I began to strive for things I hadn?t done before. One of my fitness goals was to finish a run second last instead of last.
